Los presidentes de Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, y de Colombia, Álvaro Uribe, se reúnen este viernes en Bogotá, para concretar un encuentro en el que se prevé que los mandatarios adelanten soluciones sobre el intercambio humanitario entre retenidos por las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) y guerrilleros presos en cárceles gubernamentales.
El presidente de Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, quien se comprometió a "no descansar" hasta lograr un acuerdo humanitario en Colombia, llegó este viernes a Bogotá en lo que representa la décima reunión entre ambos mandatarios, pero por primera vez con el objetivo de destrabar las conversaciones entre el gobierno colombiano y las FARC en la consecución de un canje humanitario.
A su arribo al Aeropuerto Militar de Catam, el jefe de Estado venezolano manifestó que le "pide a Dios que pueda contribuir en el tema del canje humanitario, en el tema de la búsqueda de la paz" en Colombia.
Venezuela se unió en julio a Francia, España y Suiza, como mediador en el conflicto armado colombiano.
Las FARC piden el despeje militar por 45 días de las zonas de la Florida y Pradera (centro oeste), como condición para que se concrete un intercambio humanitario, el cual han reiterado que debe hacerse en suelo colombiano. Sin embargo, el gobierno colombiano ha reiterado que no cederá en esta petición.
El corresponsal de TeleSUR en Colombia, Camilo Romero, informó que está previsto que el presidente venezolano se reúna en horas de la tarde con los familiares de los guerrilleros presos de las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC), actividad con la que concluirá su agenda.
El presidente de Venezuela, también tiene previsto conversar con su homólogo Álvaro Uribe, sobre temas de interés binacional como el avance del gasoducto de La Guajira, la situación de los peajes fronterizos y el intercambio comercial.
Uno de los temas más sensibles del encuentro es la huelga del transporte terrestre en la zona limítrofe que divide al venezolano estado Táchira (sur) y al colombiano departamento de Santander (noreste), a raíz de la instalación de peajes en el territorio colombiano. Los empresarios decidieron suspender la medida de fuerza hace dos semanas, a la espera que los jefes de Estado solucionen en este encuentro la situación.
Además, se abordará el caso del gasoducto transguajiro, cuya conclusión presenta retraso.
La llegada a la capital colombiana de Chávez, se da dos días después que el presidente francés, Nicolás Sarkozy, lo llamara por teléfono para expresarle su "pleno apoyo" en sus gestiones de negociación en el conflicto.
